An education fair was held at the Cultural Center of Salahaddin University-Erbil (SUE) between February 11 and 13, 2019 jointly by the SUE and the Iraqi branch of the Alumni Association of Turkey Iraq to promote universities and educational opportunities in Turkey.

SUE Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmed Enver Dizayi gave a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the education fair.  Dizayi pointed that there is a huge demand in Arbil to study master's and doctoral degrees at the universities in Turkey and the education fair that has been held for the first time in history for educational opportunities in Turkey is quite important.

Then, Deputy Consul of Republic of Turkey to Arbil Mustafa Burak Barbaros provided some statistics on the status of foreign students as well as educational and scholarship opportunities in Turkey and call on young people to study in Turkey. Following the speeches, the ribbon cutting ceremony was held and the education fair was official launched.

Representatives of Yunus Emre Institute, the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), the Alumni Association of Turkey, Maarif Foundation of Turkey, Cyprus University, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University, İnönü University, Karabük University and Yüzüncü Yıl University promoted their institutions at their respective booths.

Young people, educators and press members from Arbil showed heightened interest in Yunus Emre Institute's booth at the fair and they were briefed about Turkish language courses and materials, remote Turkish language teaching portal, Turkish proficiency exam, cultural activities, etc.
