Academic Bridge From Albania to Turkey

A delegation of 55 academic members and students from the Department of History, Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Shkodër "Luigj Gurakuqi" in Albania has been entertained as guests in Turkey.

An event entitled "Academic Bridge from Albania to Turkey" has been organized jointly by Yunus Emre Institute's Shkodër Branch, Governorate of Edirne of the Republic of Turkey, Trakya University of the Republic of Turkey and the University of Shkodër "Luigj Gurakuqi" between June 17 and 26, 2019.

Having visited historical and cultural sites in Istanbul and Edirne as part of the internship and academic interaction programs, the Albanian students paid a visit to Edirne Governor Ekrem Canalp to offer their thanks and say goodbye before returning their home country.

Governor Canalp chatted with the students. "I hope you are leaving Edirne and Turkey in a satisfied manner. I expect you to visit Turkey again in future. Indeed, I will visit Shkodër again," he said.

Fatma Dema, one of the students, indicated that they had a chance to learn more about Turkey and Turkish people thanks to the event. She noted that she was mesmerized by Turkey. "I felt as if I were in my home country as we have the same culture. I express my gratitude to everyone involved in this event," she said. Saimir Hyseni, another student, stated that this was his first visit to Edirne and he was glad to be acquainted with Turkish culture close.
