Yunus Emre Enstitüsü (YEI) in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, organized an experience sharing and farewell event for the students who won Turkish Scholarships.

The event was attended by students who were awarded scholarships for undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs on September 15th, 2022.

Khartoum Education Counselor Assoc. Dr. Gökhan Bozbaş said, "This year, we are sending more than 100 students from Sudan to Turkey on scholarship. These scholarships provided by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) are very popular among Sudanese students. Every year, we send about 150 lucky students to Turkey, selected from 15,000 to 20,000 applicants."

Stating that they shared experiences with the students brought together by the Turkish Alumni Association, Bozbaş said, "We told them that they should concentrate especially on learning Turkish and build a network that they can use after graduation. We conveyed that it is our greatest expectation that they contribute to the development and progress of Sudan."

Mujahid Muhammed Kasem Seyyid, who will pursue a PhD in civil engineering at Kayseri Erciyes University, said that he has been dreaming of studying in Turkey for a long time due to its advanced technology, architecture, engineering, and close culture and customs and that he was very happy to be selected for YTB scholarships.

Muhammed Emin Muhammed Osman, who will study electrical and electronics engineering at Eskişehir Technical University, said that he was a little nervous about entering a new environment, leaving his country, family, and friends where he has lived for 18 years, but he felt lucky and excited that Turkey Scholarships opened the door to a new society, a culture he had not known before and a quality education.
