Third of Culture Nights event series, organised as part of 2016 Turkish Summer School by Sound of Turkish Radio that broadcasts under Yunus Emre Enstitüsü, took place in Denizli.

Event organised by contributions of Denizli Governorship, Denizli Municipality and Pamukkale University, took start as Turkish Summer School Friendship Truck entered Çınar Square.

540 students from 46 countries hosted in 16 Turkish cities by Yunus Emre Enstitüsü, received training in 20 different universities under Turkish Summer School and participated in various cultural events. Culture Nights organised with the aim of bringing students together with locals, was widely attended by Denizli locals.

Event opened with promotional videos of Yunus Emre Enstitüsü and Turkish Summer School in Ankara and Samsun, and following students' support messages to Turkey, the competition titled “I Compete in Turkish” was held. In the competition hosted by Sound of Turkish Radio presenter Mert Talat Dilekçioğlu, students both had fun and got the chance to learn. Students answered questions on Turkish culture, history, art and Turkish grammar and enjoyed the competition.

Zhanerke Toishybay and Guldana Abdulkarim from Kazakhstan, Arkel Cufo from Albania, Salih Türker from Netherlands, and Farzaneh Farhangi from Iran competed in “I Compete in Turkish” broadcast live on Sound of Turkish Radio. Salih Türker who answered 8 out of 10 questions right won the competition, and Pamukkale University Language Research and Application Centre professors presented the students with their prizes.

Following “I Compete in Turkish” event, a dinner program was held as part of Pamukkale University Culture Nights. Dinner organised in honour of students hosted by Yunus Emre Enstitüsü, was attended by Denizli Lieutenant Governor İsmail Soykan, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Ali Değirmenci and Pamukkale University Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Bağ.

Dinner that brought together local administrators and students in a bull session atmosphere, ended after group photo shoot.
