GPDNet "Bright, Passionate, Beautiful" Exhibition Opened in Seoul

Yunus Emre Enstitüsü President Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş attended the opening ceremony of the photography exhibition titled "Bright, Passionate, Beautiful”, co-organized by Korea Foundation and Global Public Diplomacy Network (GPDNet), the Enstitü is the term president of for 2016-2019 period.

Prof. Dr. Ateş spoke at the opening held at Korea Foundation Art Gallery on January 5th, 2017, noting that the event is the first collaboration of GPDNet members in the field of art and expressed his satisfaction with the success of the project supported also by the Enstitü.  Congratulating the Korean Foundation for the leadership they have shown in this process, Dr. Ateş stated that the event that aims to bring the UN Sustainable Development Goals to the agenda, once again revealed art's potential to make our lives better and make our streets, neighbourhoods, villages and cities more liveable.

Prof. Dr. Ateş emphasized that they are also happy that the exhibition coincided with the 60th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and Turkey, and that they aspire for further cultural exchanges between Turkey and Korea through developing relations and making collaborations with the Korea Foundation as the Enstitü.

"Bright, Passionate, Beautiful" Exhibition

The exhibition "Bright, Passionate, Beautiful" is the final leg of a major event held in three stages. As part of the event, Korean mural artists and volunteers first painted the walls of houses and public facilities in Tam Thanh village in Vietnam together with local volunteers. In event's second stage, photographers Noh Gihun and Lim Miju (Korea), Alper Taşçı and Mehmet Bayram (Turkey) and Marvin Alcaraz (Palestine) photographed the murals as well as village's natural beauty with sponsorship of Yunus Emre Enstitüsü and Philippines National Art and Culture Commission. The photography exhibition opened at Korea Foundation Art Gallery in Seoul is the final stage of the project aimed at bringing United Nations "Sustainable Development Goals" into the spotlight.

Exhibition open to visit until January 24th 2016, is a major joint event by Global Public Diplomacy Network, Enstitü is the term president of for the next three years,  and reveals the successful relationships we have maintained with international cultural diplomacy institutions.
