Indonesian Army to Learn Turkish

Jakarta Yunus Emre Institute continues to organize a wide range of Turkish teaching activities by reaching all over Indonesia.

 

Adding a new one to its large-scale Turkish teaching activities carried out across the country the Institute took the first step towards starting Turkish courses for the Indonesian army. A cooperation protocol was signed between Jakarta Yunus Emre Institute and the Indonesian Land Forces Command in the field of Turkish teaching.

 

Jakarta Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Cemal Şahin and Indonesian Land Forces Command International Relations Training Department Head Colonel Rivan Rembudito Rivai were present at the signing ceremony hosted by the Institute on September 7th, 2023.

 

The Institute plans to organize Turkish courses for the personnel of Indonesia’s Naval and Air Force Commands in 2023, within the framework of Turkish teaching activities that the Institute will initiate for the personnel of the Land Forces Command. Within the scope of the signed protocol, Turkish will become the second preferred foreign language in the services commands of Indonesia.

 

Colonel Rivan Rembudito Rivai, Head of the International Relations Training Department of the Indonesian Land Forces Command, noted that among the protocols signed between the Land Forces Command and other institutions, the Turkish language teaching protocol signed with Yunus Emre Institute is one of the most important developments in the Land Forces Command.

 

Regarding the signed protocol, Jakarta Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Cemal Şahin used the following expressions: “This signed protocol is a very important development for the relations between the two countries, as Indonesia has the largest military, political and economic power in Far East Asia.” 

 

Within the scope of the protocol, Turkish courses will be provided by the Institute to personnel of the Land Forces Command for 4 years.

 

Jakarta Yunus Emre Institute plans to sign a comprehensive protocol with the Indonesian Ministry of National Defense at the end of 2023, which will strengthen the cultural relations between the two countries in many areas, from Turkish language teaching activities to the promotion of Türkiye’s cultural heritage.

 

Towards 1 Million in the 100th Year

 

Yunus Emre Institute continues its efforts to achieve its goal of “introducing Turkish culture and Turkish to 1 million people” on the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic, through its collaborations with reputable local institutions through its representative offices in different geographies of the world, and its face-to-face and digital Turkish teaching activities organized.
