International Workshop on Unifying Power of Culture and Role of Universities

The International Workshop on Unifying Power of Culture and Role of Universities, jointly organized by Kütahya Dumlupınar University's Development Strategic Research Center, Yunus Emre Institute, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), Tavşanlı Municipality, Tavşanlı Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Erasmus+ Coordination Office, was hosted by Kütahya Dumlupınar University between February 27 and 28, 2019.

Senior representatives and academics from approximately 70 universities from 26 countries in three continents attended the workshop, and Kütahya Governor Dr. Ömer Toraman and Kütahya Dumlupınar University Rector Prof. Dr. Remzi Gören delivered the keynote speeches during the opening ceremony.

In his speech, Rector Gören placed emphasis on the purpose of the workshop. "I hope that the event held here will enhance academic cooperation among the participating countries and universities. I will exert great efforts in coordination with the Higher Education Board (YÖK) to permeate this unity and solidarity and ensure cooperation in the field of education and training and implement the recommendations and expectations that will emerge from this workshop," he said.

13 senior executives including 6 rectors from 8 universities from Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro and Kosovo under the Academic and Scientific Cooperation Project of Turkey, conducted by Yunus Emre Institute, attended the International Workshop on Unifying Power of Culture and Role of Universities.

On the second day of the workshop, representatives of nearly 70 universities held negotiations for bilateral agreements, and Kütahya Dumlupınar University made international cooperation agreements with 12 universities from 9 countries including Kosovo and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
