Online "Healing in the Modality" Concert

Yunus Emre Institute's Shkodër Turkish Cultural Center and Applied Music Therapies Association have organized an online concert entitled "Makamda Şifa" (Healing in the Modality).

The program started with the reciting of verses from the Holy Qur'an by Chief Imam of Eyüp Sultan Mosque in Istanbul Metin Çakar in the memory of all people who died in the coronavirus outbreak.

In his keynote speech, our Institute President Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş indicated that he hoped that the concert would bring healing, peace and tranquility to the entire world. Noting that the two-month quarantine is about to end, he stated that he hoped that all human beings have learned their lessons from this ordeal and realized that importance of breathing and are ready for better days ahead.

Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Tirana Murat Ahmet Yörük pointed out that everyone has been psychologically affected from the current period and he hoped that the concert would bring healing and therapy to everyone.

The concert features compositions by Halil Erseven, Fehmi Tokay, Tanburi Cemil Bey, Dede Efendi, and Muallim İsmail Hakkı Bey in the modalities of Acem Kürdi, Buselik, Ferahfeza, Hicaz, Hüzzam, and Seğah.
