Pottery workshops, which have been continuing for the last two years at Dakar Yunus Emre Institute (YEI), will continue to be held in 2024. The workshops held in the garden of Dakar YEI are carried out in cooperation with the Colombins Association, which takes disabled children under its protection and teaches them the art of pottery.

Senegalese Pottery Masters Provide Training

The instructor potter at the Colombins Association and the Senegalese pottery masters trained by him gave short training to the participants in the workshops. After shaping the pottery in the form they want, the participants leave it to dry, and in the next workshop, they enter the hot oven and have the opportunity to paint their fired works in the colors they want.

In addition to Senegalese people, foreign citizens living in Senegal also show great interest in the event. Thanks to these workshops, Dakar Yunus Emre Institute organizes art workshops and provides support to disadvantaged groups.

Workshops will continue every two weeks throughout the year.
