Yunus Emre Institute President Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş has been hosted by A Para TV Ankara News Director Murat Ovucu on a live-broadcast program.

Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş gave information on the Applied Cultural Diplomacy Training Program launched by Yunus Emre Institute's Cultural Diplomacy Academy.

Şeref Ateş indicated that the Institute organized the training program with a view to sharing its academic knowledge and practical experience in the field of cultural diplomacy, contributing to Turkey's cultural diplomacy potential, and raising the cultural diplomats the country needed.

"There will be five basic modules in the Applied Cultural Diplomacy Training Program. These are: diplomacy, international relations, culture, project management and, most importantly, basic values we inherited from the civilizations that flourished in these lands. The training program will employ Turkey's leading experts, academics and valuable teachers to convey Yunus Emre Institute's 10-year experience. Enriched with seminars, interviews, panel discussions, workshops and other training-oriented events, the program will improve proficiency of participants. It will raise people who know about their own culture, values and roots and who are capable of relying on them to develop new projects for our time. Cultural Diplomacy certificates will be issued to those who successfully complete the program and those who want work at the Institute will be requested to provide these certificates," he said.

Noting that human beings are at the very heart of cultural diplomacy, Ateş stated that the people who represent Turkey abroad can make a positive impact on perceptions and image of Turkey if they can earn trust in their respective countries.

Ateş pointed out that the investments Turkey makes in science, culture and art are not sufficiently advertised around the world, and he is expecting the Applied Cultural Diplomacy Training Program to make a difference in that regard.
