Special Program in Nigeria for Women's Day
A program named "8 March International Women's Day, the Story of the African Woman" was organized by Yunus Emre Institute (YEI), operating in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria.
Türkiye's Ambassador to Abuja Hidayet Bayraktar, embassy members and diplomats from different countries, as well as Nigeria’s National Community Art Director Hajiya Khaltume Bulama Ghana, Advisor of Federal Youth Minister Aisha Sambo and many guests attended the program.
In his opening speech of the program, touching upon the value of women, regardless of their nationality, ethnicity, cultural and political status, "Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder and leader of modern Türkiye, rightly said, 'Everything we see in the world is the work of women.'" Ambassador Bayraktar said.
"Today, we will listen to the story of the Nigerian woman from valuable Nigerian speakers Mariam Maigida, Habibah A. Waziri, Aisha Shuaibu, Zainab Bashir Yau." Abuja YEI Coordinator Musa Erbaş said.
In the program, Nigerian female speakers gave speeches under the titles "Education and Entrepreneurship", "Women's Leadership Role in Education", "Women in African Sports" and "Women's Place in Arts".
After the conference, a flute concert was held and plaques were presented to the speakers.
