Carrying out activities aimed at promoting Türkiye, the cradle of civilizations, and elements of rich Turkish culture in the geographies where the Institute has representations abroad, Yunus Emre Institute reveals Türkiye's tourism potential worldwide

"Tourism Turkish Workshop" was organized by the Cairo Yunus Emre Institute in order to emphasize the diversity of Türkiye's cultural heritage and to highlight Türkiye's tourism potential.

In addition to introducing historical sites of Türkiye, the workshop also teaches basic phrases and dialogues that Egyptians may need during their travels to Türkiye.

“WHEN WE ANNOUNCED THE TOURISM TURKISH WORKSHOP, WE RECEIVED NEARLY 300 APPLICATIONS IN ONE DAY”

Cairo Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Coordinator Emin Boyraz used the following statements: "Egyptians' interest in Türkiye and Turkish culture is increasing day by day with the impact of the projects we have implemented to promote Turkish culture and Turkish in Egypt, and Turkish films and TV series. When we announced the Tourism Turkish Workshop, we received nearly 300 applications in one day. We started the workshop with a group of 30 people, especially the officials of the Museum of Islamic Art in Cairo and people working in the fields of culture and art.”

TRAINEES WILL BE ABLE TO TRAVEL TÜRKİYE WITH THE TURKISH COMMUNICATION SKILLS THEY LEARN IN THE WORKSHOP

Coordinator Boyraz made the following evaluations: “With the activities we carry out in this manner, we highlight the tourism potential of our country by addressing the historical and geographical richness of Türkiye, the intersection point of various civilizations. In the workshop, the trainees are taught basic phrases and dialogues that they may need when they travel to Türkiye, using the 'Turkish Speaking Guide for Foreigners', which is among the printed publications of our Institute. In this way, our trainees will be able to travel around Türkiye in Turkish by handling everything they may need in Turkish in many places such as airports, hotels and hospitals.”

“IT IS ADMIRABLE TO BE ABLE TO SEE THE TRACES OF VARIOUS CIVILIZATIONS IN A SINGLE COUNTRY”

Radwa Fathy, one of the workshop participants, said: “Türkiye has a rich cultural heritage. It is admirable to be able to see the traces of various civilizations in a single country. I went to Türkiye with my wife before. We visited Istanbul for a week and witnessed history by visiting palaces and mosques with magnificent historical structures. After this visit, I decided to see other cities of Türkiye. Thanks to this workshop, I will be able to communicate more easily with Turks through the Turkish dialogues I will learn.”

Another trainee, Mohamed Ahmed said: “I am a lawyer and I am also very interested in sports. Egypt is not very suitable for sports such as mountain climbing, parachuting and skiing. Türkiye has a different and beautiful nature. I plan to visit the green hills of the Black Sea region in January next year. I will use the dialogues I learned in the workshop on my trip to Türkiye.”
