TSS students observed the historical texture of Cappadocia

Under Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Turkish Summer School, 20 students from 17 countries visited Nevşehir and got the opportunity to speak Turkish in its own geography surrounded by Cappadocia's unique historical texture and aesthetic stance. Students who took Turkish lessons in Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University Turkish Language Instruction Centre participated in social and cultural activities.

The students who got the chance to ride horses on banks of Kızılırmak in the land of the beautiful horses, Cappadocia, expressed how they enjoyed this experience. Students who also went on a gondola tour, relaxed in Turkish bath at the end of the day. Students who had the chance to participate in the traditional Turkish henna night, enjoyed the texture of Cappadocia in the sunset accompanied by hot air balloons.

The students of Turkish Summer School who met with whirling dervishes, learned about whirling philosophy from first hand and also met with folk poetry culture accompanied with baglama.

In the program which was not limited to Cappadocia, the students visited Mevlana and Shams mausoleums and Anatolian Seljuk History Museum and tasted meat brad, an authentic Konya dish.

Students who visited the underground cities and observed the history in dust, often expressed that they did not want to leave Turkey.

The students were satisfied with locals' hospitality and learned how to make wheat and tandoori bread.
