Turkic Council members ink new cooperation deals

A signing ceremony has been held under the chair of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) and with participation of six members of the Turkic Council.

YTB President Abdullah Eren and Yunus Emre Institute President Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş as well as international students on Turkey's scholarship attended the signing ceremony which was performed on Thursday, November 8.

Delivering a speech at the signing ceremony in Ankara, YTB President Eren drew attention to Turkey's diaspora concept that took into consideration the sister communities as well. Noting that cultural similarity offered a very fertile ground for bilateral relations, Eren indicated that as sister countries, the Turkic Council member countries were primary partners.

Memorandum of understanding signed

Memorandum of understanding on cooperation for diaspora policies was signed between the YTB and Azerbaijan and between the YTB and Kazakhstan. Yunus Emre Institute undersigned a cooperation and promotion protocol with Kazakhstan. 

Yunus Emre Institute President Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş and Kazakhstan Citizens Foundation President Nurtai Abykayev set their signatures on the protocol which seeks to facilitate joint projects on language, education, culture, art and science between the Institute and the Foundation.
