The 17th International Wake Up with Art Festival, held traditionally in Kosovo, has been organized in Prizren this year with the theme of "Fountains of Prizren."

As part of the festival which is traditionally held in Kosovo to preserve and maintain the historical and cultural heritage, a mixed art exhibition entitled "Barış İçin" (For Peace) was launched. The event took place on Friday, June 22 at the Exhibition Hall of Yunus Emre Institute's Prizren Branch and the art lovers had a chance to have a glimpse of the works of international painters.

A documentary entitled "Gülçınar İlhami Emin," depicting the biography of Macedonian-Turkish poet and writer İlhami Emin, dubbed as the "Balkan Plane" and "Rose Poet" in the Balkans, was also screened during the event. After the screening which commemorated the heritage of İlhami Emin, the documentary's director İsmet Arasan gave an interview. Noting that he has special interest and love for the Balkan stories, Arasan indicated that the philosophical foundations of his film-making adventure were laid upon the belief that all human beings have a common fate by creation. "We do not alienate other people. We treat people from all nations as sisters and brothers," he said.

During the festival, TÜRKSOY Opera Stars gave a concert in the historical Hammam of Gazi Mehmet Pasha.
