Yunus Emre Institute President Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş has paid visit to Mostar with Kayseri Mayor Mustafa Çelik.

Professor Ateş visited Turkish Consul General in Mostar Zerrin Kandemir and after having talks with her, he went to Egipatko Selo Orphanage and Los Rosales Complex for the Disabled, which they supported via KAYMEK Center in Mostar.

"Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality's actions should set an example for other municipalities"

President Şeref Ateş was briefed about the services provided at Egipatko Selo Orphanage and he indicated that at the Mostar Orphanage, Turkish language courses had been provided free of charge to children in addition to vocational and craft courses for two years.

In his speech, Professor Ateş thanked Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality. "I hope what Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality has done should be modeled by other municipalities as well. We are able to address broader groups in cooperation with KAYMEK. Hopefully, we will continue with these activities. We have reached more than 1,000 people for two years. Not only Bosniaks, but also Croats and Serbs attend these courses. Thus, we create a sound infrastructure for the scale-up of a peaceful culture. The Turkish culture can manifest itself better thanks to these courses," he said.

Consul General in Mostar Zerrin Kandemir expressed her gratitude to Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality and Yunus Emre Institute for their services. Kandemir asserted that the recognition of Kayseri and Turkey increased thanks to this cooperation. "These projects that are designed to win over people are very helpful for us. I hope this cooperation will be maintained with other nice projects," she said.

During their visit, the children from Egipatko Selo Orphanage gave the pictures they had painted to Institute President Ateş, Mayo Çelik and Consul General Kandemir as presents.

"Our doors are open to big-hearted people"

Yunus Emre Institute President Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş and Kayseri Mayor Mustafa Çelik also visited Los Rosales Complex for the Disabled in Mostar. Touring around the vocational workshops inside the Complex for the Disabled, Ateş and Çelik were briefed about the training geared toward the mentally disabled people.

The director of Los Rosales Complex for the Disabled thanked Ateş and Çelik for their support and expressed her gratitude for hosting the Kayseri delegation. "Our doors are always open to big-hearted people," she said.
