Moscow Hosts “Landscapes from Türkiye” Painting Exhibition

An art exhibition titled “Landscapes from Türkiye” debuted in Moscow, Russia’s capital.

The exhibition hosted by the Yunus Emre  in Moscow offers art enthusiasts the opportunity to admire 30 paintings by the “Art Vue-Moscow” group of artists, showcasing diverse beauties of Türkiye.

The exhibition was attended by Tanju Bilgiç, Turkish Ambassador to Moscow and his wife Betül Bilgiç; Ali Özgündüz, Yunus Emre Institute Supervisory Board Member; Mehmet Ülker, Coordinator of the Yunus Emre Institute in Moscow; Nurullah Bakır, Representative of the Russian-Turkish Businessmen’s Association (RTİB); Marina Dyagteryova, President of the Art Vue-Moscow Artists Group, as well as Turkish and Russian art enthusiasts.

Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Tanju Bilgiç, Turkish Ambassador to Moscow highlighted that the first painting exhibition featuring Türkiye took place in Moscow two months prior, noting, “Esteemed Russian painters are reinforcing the bonds of friendship between our nations through these artworks.”

Yunus Emre Institute Supervisory Board Member Özgündüz remarked, “This exhibition provides a platform to showcase the beauty and cultural richness of Türkiye. The historical ties between Russia and Türkiye are also evident in the fields of art and culture. Today’s event showcases the perspectives of Russian painters on Türkiye’s natural wonders and historical landmarks.”

Mehmet Ülker, Coordinator of the Yunus Emre Institute in Moscow, underscored the significance of the exhibition, stating, “This exhibition provides an opportunity to rediscover Türkiye’s distinctive natural splendors and historical abundance through the perspective of Russian painters. The landscapes depicted by the painters mirror Türkiye’s unparalleled geographical diversity and rich historical heritage.”

Coordinator Ülker further remarked, “Observing Türkiye’s breathtaking landscapes interpreted by Russian painters not only builds a cultural bridge but also enables us to discover a shared ground of affection and appreciation conveyed through the universal language of art. This exhibition also enhances the prominence of Türkiye’s natural wonders and historical landmarks on the international art stage, contributing to their exposure to a broad audience.”

At the conclusion of the event, Nurullah Bakır, Representative of the Russian-Turkish Businessmen’s Association (RTİB) and Marina Dyagteryova, President of the Art Vue-Moscow Artists Group, awarded certificates to the Russian painters.

The “Landscapes from Türkiye” exhibition will be open to visitors until February 10, 2024.
