Traditional Turkish Archery Competition Held in Kosovo

In the city of Prizren in the southwest of Kosovo, within the scope of the "Kemankeş Project", the "Traditional Turkish Archery Kosovo Cup" competition was held on October 23, 2022, in cooperation with Yunus Emre Institute (YEI) and Prizren Traditional Archery Club.

Yunus Emre Institute Kosovo Coordinator Ramazan Yılmaz, President of Kosovo Archery Federation Agron Mala, and sports fans attended the event.

SUCH PROJECTS IMPROVE RELATIONS BETWEEN THE TWO COUNTRIES

In his speech at the ceremony following the races, Coordinator Yılmaz stated that archery had been an integral part of the Turkish nation throughout history.

Expressing his satisfaction with the great interest in the courses opened, Yılmaz said, "In line with the deep interest and demand, our efforts to open the courses in Gjakova, Dragas, and Mitrovica continue at full speed. Such projects play an important role in developing deep cultural relations between Kosovo and Turkey, also in the field of sports."

Federation President Mala pointed out that the efforts they started in cooperation with Yunus Emre Institute to direct young people to sports have reached good points in a short time and said, "I promise that the Kosovo Archery Federation will be with you on your journey to success and goal together with the Archery community and family."

After the speeches, about 70 athletes from various provinces of Kosovo were presented with their certificates and trophies by the guests.

ARCHERY TRAINING FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DOWN SYNDROME

On the occasion of October being Down Syndrome Awareness Month, individuals with Down Syndrome had the chance to experience shooting arrows as part of the event. Practical promotions of marbling art were also held throughout the day. 

Olympic Archery was introduced by the competitors of the Kosovo National Archery team participating in the program. 

The program ended with a family photo.
