“Culture is a very broad concept that includes the past and the future”

Starting his speeches at the panel by addressing the notion of culture and the elements that make up culture, Yunus Emre Institute President Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş used the following expressions: “Culture is a very broad concept that includes the past and the future. Language, religion, history, literature and even geography are the most important elements of the concept of culture. The main carrier of culture is language. As Yunus Emre said, ‘Language is the way of wisdom.’”

“Yunus Emre Institute has been continuing its educational and cultural activities in the region for more than two years”

Institute President Prof. Dr. Ateş made the following evaluations in the continuation of his speech: “On this blessed day, which is the 7th anniversary of the Euphrates Shield Operation and the 507th anniversary of the Victory of Mercidabık, we have come together with you to inaugurate the representation of our Institute, which operates in the fields of language, history, culture and art, in Al-Bab. Yunus Emre Institute has been continuing its educational and cultural activities in the region for more than two years.”

Emphasizing that bridges have been built between deep-rooted traditions and civilizations in the same geography, “Turks and Arabs have had cultural exchanges from the moment they interacted; The mutual influence processes in the fields of art, literature, language and even culinary culture have made significant contributions to Islamic civilization,” Institute President Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş said.

“The time is the time to rebuild the future with hope, to stick together tightly and to work”

“Yunus Emre Institute is the home of especially young people in the region. Because in this geography, our fate and our sorrow are shared. In this ancient land, our past and our future are the same. Now is time to form the links of the chain of continuation by transferring the experiences to the next generations, on the other hand, to preserve the described era against time and rebuild the future with hope, to stick together tightly and to work, together with the Syrian youth, academics and the public, who are the witnesses of the age, in the city of Al-Bab, which has a spirit and makes this spirit felt in the first step,” Institute President Prof. Dr. Ateş said.
