The pre-selection competition of the candidates who will represent Malaysia in the Conquest Cup, to be arranged in May, organized by Yunus Emre Institute (YEI) within the scope of the 2022 International Traditional Archery Festival in Malaysia, was held.

The organization, supported by the Malaysian Ministry of Youth and Sports, and Kuala Lumpur Yunus Emre Institute, was hosted by the National Archery Association of Malaysia, while the Ambassador of Turkey to Kuala Lumpur Merve Safa Kavakcı, also attended the event.

300 athletes from different states of Malaysia, participated in the pre-selections held at the Multimedia University Stadium in the capital Kuala Lumpur.

Ambassador Kavakcı, who was interested in athletes participating in the competition, said:

‘’With this year’s competitions, which we organized with the cooperation of Yunus Emre Institute and Multimedia University, we are also taking the relations between the two countries to a new level through sports diplomacy. Malaysia’s increasing interest in our country’s traditional archery over the years is admirable. Malaysian instructors, who have studied Turkish archery in our country, are proving our historical and national value, such as archery, and they envy Turkey’s leadership in the international area. This is also proud for our nation.’’
