"In the Footsteps of Yunus" Event Organized in Cologne and Amsterdam

The first program of the "In the footsteps of Yunus" series organized by Yunus Emre Institute was held in Cologne, Germany, on September 24, 2022.

In the concert, which brought together Yunus’s philosophy with music, organized by the Cologne Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center at the Religious Affairs Turkish Islamic Union Conference Hall, the television programmer, and writer Serdar Tuncer was accompanied by Bosnia and Herzegovina artist Zeyd Şoto.

Yunus's poems and hymns, in which he expressed love, tolerance, and human values in the most eloquent way, were presented at the concert attended by nearly 500 people.

Tuncer performed works reflecting the depth of Yunus Emre's world view such as "Aşkın Aldı Beni Beni", "Gönüller Yapmaya Geldim", "Bir Kez Gönül Yıktın ise", "Miskinlikte Buldular", "Hak Çalabım Hak Çalabım", "Gel Gör Beni" and talked about the world of thought of Yunus.

Stating that according to Yunus, there is only one reason for all deficiencies, Tuncer said, "The lack of love in today's world makes our world unlivable."

Tuncer, who presented excerpts from Yunus' life, conveyed the concepts of heart, humility, and love to the audience with his unique presentation. Yunus Emre Institute Cologne Director Dr. Yılmaz Bulut said, "The programs that bring Yunus' philosophy together with music will continue in different cities of Europe."

SECOND PROGRAM IN AMSTERDAM

The second "In the Footsteps of Yunus" program was held on September 25 at the Yunus Emre Institute in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

The program held at Corendon Village Hotel was attended by approximately 300 people including Ambassador of The Hague Şaban Dişli, Consul General of Amsterdam Engin Arıkan, Yunus Emre Institute President Şeref Ateş, representatives of Turkish institutions and organizations, guests and Dutch music lovers.

Speaking at the program, Yunus Emre Institute President Prof. Dr. Ateş said, "As the Institute, we bring Turkish thought and culture together with the world. While trying to understand and make sense of the world we live in, like Yunus Emre, we also establish ties with other lives."

In the concert, Serdar Tuncer performed works reflecting the depth of Yunus Emre's world view such as 'Aşkın Aldı Benden Beni', 'Gönüller Yapmaya Geldim', 'Bir Bir Gönül Yıktın İse', 'Gel Gör Beni'.
