"Turkish House" Exhibition Opened in Dakar

To promote Turkey, its language, and culture, the Yunus Emre Institute opened the "Turkish House Exhibition" in Dakar, Senegal's capital. The exhibition was held as part of the Turcology Cooperation Protocol, which was signed in 2016 between the Institute, which has been active in Senegal since 2017, and the Cheikh Anta Diop University of Senegal.

On February 22, 2022, Yunus Emre Institute President Prof. Şeref Ateş, Turkey's Ambassador to Dakar Ahmet Kavas, visitors, and media attended the opening program of the Turkish House exhibition hosted at Dakar Yunus Emre Institute.

TURKEY WILL BE EXPLAINED IN REALISTIC DETAILS

Prof. Ateş stated that he is pleased to open the Turkish House exhibition of the Yunus Emre Institute, which serves as Turkey's cultural ambassador throughout the world, in the presence of Ambassador Kavas, and expressed his faith that relations between the two countries will enhance further.

With the exhibition that opened in Dakar, Senegal's capital, the Yunus Emre Institute, which establishes links with Turkey and works to raise the number of people friendly to Turkey all over the world, provides the people of Senegal the chance to learn about Turkey and Turkish culture. The exhibition focusing on Turkish architecture aims to promote Turkey and Turkish culture as well as realistically reflect Turkey.

Visitors to the exhibition were also told that "every society has its own language and architecture, and that this architecture carries the same name as the society to which it belongs."

350 STUDENTS LEARNED TURKISH AS PART OF THE TURKOLOGY COOPERATION PROTOCOL

Yunus Emre Institute began organizing events at its headquarters in Dakar in 2016 with the aim of introducing the Turkish language, history, and culture to the rest of the globe as part of the Turcology Cooperation Protocol signed with Senegal Cheikh Anta Diop University. So far, 350 students have been taught Turkish as an outcome of the collaboration treaty signed with the university and the protocol agreed on the development of a Turkish language teaching center in the CAP Manuel Military Barracks in 2018.
