Georgia International Archery Tournament Completed
GThe first graduates of the Traditional Turkish Archery course opened by Tbilisi Yunus Emre Institute (YEI) in Marneuli, Georgia, received their certificates.
The Turkish Ambassador to Tbilisi Fatma Ceren Yazgan, Embassy Education Counselor Yüksel Kara, Tbilisi Yunus Emre Institute Director Ali Oğuzhan Yüksel, Turkish Cooperation Coordination Agency (TİKA) Tbilisi Coordinator Tuba Özütok, local municipality officials and trainees attended the ceremony held in Marneuli, where mostly Georgian citizens of Azerbaijani origin live.
Ambassador Yazgan, in her speech at the ceremony, said that each region has its own tradition and culture, but there are common points that bring together regions from Central Asia to Balkans, such as language, music and sports.
CULTURAL BRIDGES BETWEEN TURKEY-AZERBAIJAN-GEORGIA ARE STRENGTHENING
Noting that similar cultures and traditions lead to the development of relations between peoples, Yazgan stated that the cultural bridges between Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey have been strengthened with activities such as traditional Turkish archery courses.
Expressing that Turkish archery has a certain style and technique, Yazgan said, "This technique is learned by constant, fast, target-oriented and disciplined practice.
Yunus Emre Institute Director Yüksel, said that they are proud that the culture of Turkish traditional archery is kept alive in Georgia.
At the end of the event, where an arrow shooting competition was held, trainees received their certificates.
