Turkish Culture Introduced in Kuwait

Turkish culture was introduced from different perspectives at the event called "Turkish Village" held in Kuwait.

Yunus Emre Institute, participated in the Turkish Village event held in Muruj Region under the auspices of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Kuwait.

In addition to folk dances and the janissary band, ancestral sports performances such as archery, horse riding and sword games were held in the Turkish Village.

At the event, where handmade works brought from all over Türkiye were presented, guests showed great interest in local products and flavors from Turkish cuisine.

At the event, which was held with the participation of 80 companies and institutions from Türkiye, a Turkish cultural feast was offered to the visitors.

In the event area promotional stands of  the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye, the Presidential Directorate of Communications of the Republic of Türkiye, the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities, Yunus Emre Institute and Türkiye's Embassy in Kuwait took place.

In her speech at the opening ceremony, Turkish Ambassador in Kuwaiti Tuba Nur Sönmez emphasized that Türkiye and Kuwait are part of the great Islamic civilization and stated that they aim to increase the cultural interaction between the two countries with such events.

Ambassador Sönmez stated that the common values and cultural closeness between Türkiye and Kuwait are the most important driving force of the political relations between the two countries.

The opening of the event was attended by Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of the republic of Türkiye Dr. Serdar Çam, Kuwait's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for European Affairs Sadık al-Marafi, Secretary General of the National Council of Culture, Arts and Literature (NCCAL) Dr. Mohammed al-Cessar and Hunting and Equestrian Club General Secretary Sheikh Sabah Fahd al-Nassar As-Sabah, as well as foreign mission chiefs in Kuwait, diplomats and Turkish citizens attended.

The Turkish Village event will continue until December 9th, 2023.
