Turkish Delight and Cologne Conference in Mostar
On 9 October at Mostar Yunus Emre Institute, Prof. Yavuz Kartallıoğlu gave a conference on Turkish Delight and Cologne.
Yaşar Ergün, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Mostar, officials of Turkish and local institutions, academics and many culture and art enthusiasts attended the conference.
Speaking at the conference, Yunus Emre Institute Turkish Teaching and Turcology Director Prof. Yavuz Kartallıoğlu conveyed the adventure of Turkish delight and cologne from past to present to the audience.
Making statements about Turkish delight, which is the common heritage of Bosnia and Turkey, Kartallıoğlu stated that Turkish delight is a type of dessert that has been enjoyed by Bosnians since the Ottoman period. Prof. Kartallıoğlu underlined that it is noteworthy that Bosnians used the term "sweet Turkish delight" in Ottoman times from past to present.
Answering interesting questions from the audience, Kartallıoğlu stated that such events emphasizing our cultural partnerships will continue in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as all over the world.
After the conference, the participants had the opportunity to taste different flavored delights and try colognes of various fragrances.
