Yunus Emre Institute (YEI), operating in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, organized a certificate ceremony and the opening program of the 2024 academic year for students who were successful in Turkish education on February 24th, 2024.

Türkiye's Abuja Ambassador Hidayet Bayraktar, YEI Abuja Coordinator Musa Erbaş, YEI trainees, Turkish citizens and Turkish graduates attended the certificate ceremony.

Speaking at the opening of the program, Erbaş stated that, as YEI, they continue their activities to promote the Turkish language and culture and to build cultural bridges between Türkiye and Nigeria.

"Today, we are not just holding a certificate ceremony and the opening program of the academic year. Yunus Emre is a great poet known for his tolerance and love of humanity. Inspired by his philosophy, we aim to build bridges of friendship by bringing together different cultures with tolerance and love. With your support "We aim to further popularize Turkish culture in Nigeria." Erbaş said.

He Memorized All 10 Stanzas of the Turkish National Anthem

The certificate ceremony started after the opening speech and the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye in Nigeria, Hidayet Bayraktar, presented their certificates to the students who successfully completed the A1 Level. Füsun Bayraktar gave certificates to the trainees who successfully completed the kids club course. Finally, success certificates were given by Musa Erbaş to the candidates who were successful in the Turkish Proficiency Exam (TPE) held for the first time in Abuja. Particularly, the reciting of the 10 stanzas of the National Anthem by İbrahim Usman, one of the students of the Turkish children's club, hit all participants in the feelings.

Following the program, treats from Turkish cuisine were served to the participants. The program ended after all students received certificates at the certificate ceremony and souvenir photos were taken.
